Foam ceramic filter plate description

The foam ceramic filter plate, China Innovation No. 2003CO12W, adopts a three-dimensional network structure, which is superior to the previous honeycomb foam type, and has the advantages of high porosity, low filtration resistance, small normal static difference, high surface energy, strong impurity adsorption force, superior thermal shock resistance, high strength, and no slag (ceramic particles).

The structural material, with its excellent performance, is widely used in the aluminum processing industry of aluminum melt filtration and purification, better improve the quality of aluminum, and expand the application in environmental protection engineering and heat energy utilization, catalytic carrier and other fields.

Filtration and purification mechanism of foam ceramic materials

1. Through screening habitus collision interception and diffusion interception, friction, settlement and other mechanical filtration, its filtration efficiency is proportional to the mesh aperture of foam ceramics, the smaller the mesh, the stronger the interception ability of small particles.

2. The sediment layer or filter cake layer effect, with the particle deposition in the melt and the zigzag interconnecting and uneven network wall, the trapping ability of heterophase particles is improved.

3. The rough surface formed by the gap on the surface of the skeleton body increases the interface between the aluminum liquid flow and the ceramic solid surface, which can promote the particle flow in the aluminum liquid flow to be more disordered, which is conducive to the trapping and deposition of solid particles.

4. Due to the microscopic cracks and pinholes on the surface of the skeleton body, fluoride with strong affinity for particles such as Al2O3 is pre-deposited, which promotes the complete filter cake effect and strong chemisorbed force, and the ability to trap and retain heterophase particles is strengthened.

5. In addition, the temperature field effect from the melting process and transmission process of the metal melt structure will inevitably form the concentration bottom of the alloy solute, the metal melt is redistributed - integration - redistribution - integration, which is also a good alloying process, some high melting point metal phase and compound reaggregate and grow up, and the fine hybrid phase is advantageous to filter and capture. This can also be explained from the changes in the concentration of H, Al2O3, Fe phase and Ti phase before and after filtration. In particular, double stage filtration or hole gradient thick plate filtration is more obvious. Therefore, under the same prerequisite conditions, the new foam ceramic filter plate has a high removal rate of impurity in aluminum melt, and the change of static pressure difference before and after filtration changes more significantly with time, and the change of H content in aluminum melt before and after filtration is also obvious. Of course, the smaller the choice of foam ceramic holes, the more can improve the cleanliness of aluminum melt.
